Newman’s Own Organics Review and giveaway

With food being one of my biggest passions, I am always looking for opportunities to try new things. I like to find things that are natural and/or organic. I only get one body, and I want to take care of it the best I can. I heard about a company that makes only products with organic ingredients. Having an entire line of Organic snacks was very intriguing to me, so I wanted to try them for myself and do a review for all of you.

Newman's Own Organics is a second generation company. Stemming from Newman's Own in 1993 and becoming it's own company by 2001.  Newman's Own founder, Paul Newman has given over $200 million to thousands of charities worldwide since 1982.

What set's Newman's Own Organics apart is that instead of trying to make Organic food that tastes good, they make good food that happens to be organic. While that may not sound any different, let me assure you it is.

No matter how healthy something is, it can only do good for you if you actually eat it.  Newman's Own Organics are foods that not only are you willing to eat, but that you will crave, and that is what makes them so special.

They make so many wonderful products that it would be really hard to give each one the recognition that it deserves, so I will talk about my 4 favorites(the ones you will have a chance to win).

Family Recipe Double Chocolate Chip Cookies:

I did not expect to love these as much as I do. As much as I love actually chocolate, when it comes to baked goods, I prefer vanilla flavors(sugar cookies etc) and I usually do not like chocolate chips or anything in them as much. However, these were amazing. By far my favorite item, and that is saying a lot, because all the others are great as well.

These are not a chewy cookie, but they are not hard either, they are crispy and soft and moist. It is hard to describe, but the texture is wonderful. They are also sweet, chocolaty and delicious. They are not overly sweet which is a common problem with cookies. I could have easily eaten the whole bag within minutes, but I was nice enough to share with my husband and daughter, who both loved these as well.

Newman's Own Organics also makes 4 other varieties of Family recipe cookies, Chocolate Chip, Orange Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and ginger snaps, as well as 3 varieties of alphabet cookies Vanilla, Cinnamon Graham and Chocolate.

Sour Mango Licorice Twists:

Another surprise favorite. I love mango, but I am not a huge fan of sour. These are a perfect balance though. They are coated in sugar and sour crystals that deliver just the right amount of zing. The mango flavor is really yummy, and an original flavor for licorice. Really unique and a great candy for kids and adults alike.

Sour licorice comes in 3 other flavors, Sour Strawberry, Sour Cherry and Sour Apple. Newman's Own Organics also makes as well as regular licorice twists in 3 flavors, Black, Strawberry, and Pomegranate.

Low Fat Fig Newmans:

The name describes them perfectly. These are a fig cookie masterpiece. Soft, chewy, sweet(but not too sweet), Organic and low fat. What more could you want in a cookie? I love the texture and the taste. These taste so high quality. You can really tell that these are superior to other fig cookies.

These are really a great family snack. Sophisticated for grown ups, yet sweet and delicious for kids. Healthier than regular cookies, so a winner for everyone.

These are available in Fat Free and Wheat-Free/Dairy-Free Varieties as well.

Milk Caramel Cups:

I adore caramel, it is probably my favorite form of candy, although chewing caramel hurts my teeth. If soft, creamy, smooth caramel was not indulgent enough, when paired with creamy, sweet milk chocolate in Newman's Own Caramel Cups, it is heavenly.

I did not share these with anyone. I ate each cup on a separate treat occasion. Although I wanted more, one was delightful enough to keep me content.  Each cup is like a mini escape from reality. Perfect for a stressful moment or just to reward a job well done. You deserve it.

Newman's Cups also include Dark Chocolate caramel, peanut butter or mint as well as Milk Chocolate peanut butter.

Honorable mentions:

The Newman O's are fantastic(I tried original, chocolate and peanut butter). They are not as soft and crisp as other O cookies, these are a little more dense and crunchy, but the taste is so much better. These are sweet, but not overly sugary to cause toothaches(like others do to me). I am very impressed with these cookies, and the kids loved them.

Salted Pretzel Sticks are big and crunchy, with a very great pretzel flavor. I dipped them in Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for an extra special snack.

Dried fruit Berry Blend is really fresh tasting and sweet. Chewy and moist with the perfect texture. Great in yogurt or cereal.

The bottom line is you cannot go wrong with any of these wonderful products. See the difference that quality Organic ingredients make.
