BistroMD Review

I am sure you all know that I have been trying to lose weight(and even having results) for the past couple months.

I have been trying different diet plans as well as doing some on my own, although the numbers are going down, it has been very hard.

I LOVE to eat. I love food, and before I started this weight loss journey, I ate anything I wanted, as much as I wanted, all the time.

Obviously that makes it really hard to transition into not only eating better foods, but also proper portions. I hate feeling hungry.

Most of the diet plans I have tried offer very small portions or even want to you drink shakes instead of meals. Drinking something instead of eating is hardly going to fool my well trained stomach, and it certainly won't fool my mind.

I like to eat real food that will fill me up. Ideally, the food should also taste good and not only be low in fat and calories, but it should also be nutritious to keep more than just my waistline healthy.

Furthermore, it should be easy. I hate plans they require you to add in your own items. If you are going to have to worry about shopping, planning and cooking, you might as well just do it all on your own.

I have no idea what to choose most of the time, so not only is that more time consuming and stressful, it is less effective. When I try to go it alone, I just stick to things like Fat Free Yogurt, Fruit, veggies, and chicken breast.

I am always too worried I will do the wrong food in the wrong amounts or something, and that prevents me from making actual meals(for myself) most of the time.

That is why I need a plan that has everything I need. I want everything ready to go, portioned for me so I know that everything is the right amount.

Thankfully, I recently found a plan that has everything that I am looking for. BistroMD is PERFECT!
They make fresh, high quality, real meals and ship them fresh(frozen) to your door weekly.

There are even multiple plans available to fit everyone's needs. They have programs for both Men and Women, and they offer 5 day and 7 day plans each with the option to add snacks.

I tried the 5 day Women's program without snacks.

Not only is every meal fully complete, you even get a menu telling you which breakfast, lunch and dinner to eat each day. Also, each package tells you cooking instructions. There is absolutely no guesswork.

It is so beyond easy. The food is amazing and the portions are wonderful. Look at everything I got the past 5 days.

DAY 1

Breakfast: Cinnamon Sweet Potato Pancakes, Turkey Sausage and Maple Syrup.

This meal was incredible. I love sweet potatoes and anything made from them, but have never actually tried sweet potato pancakes(as much as I have always wanted to). They were perfect. They in no way tasted "diet", and that Maple Syrup was amazing. The best I have EVER had.

The sausage was really good too. Very flavorful and it also did not taste like diet food. I was very impressed and how fantastic this tasted, but the portion size was unbelievable too. I was full for hours.

I would order this from a restaurant(even if it was not healthy) for breakfast(or lunch or dinner), that is how much I love it.

Lunch: Vegetable Chili With Native American Style Corn Pudding.

This was really good. It had lots of bunch pieces of vegetables, beans and chickpeas, it was not too runny(nor too thick) and the spice level was perfect. It was flavorful, but not hot, which I really love.

The Corn pudding was fantastic. I have never had corn pudding before(I am quite embarrassed of that being part Native American). It was slightly sweet and so flavorful. I would love to have it again.

Dinner: Roasted Norwegian Salmon with Dill, Lemon Dijon Sauce, cranberries and almonds with Spinach and rice.

Being 100% honest, I did not really care for this dish. The reason however, is that I am not a fan of fish or of spinach. I am sure the dish would be amazing to those that are. I could still tell this was well prepared, and I was able to eat it, which says a lot about how good it must have been.

Now is the perfect time to mention a marvelous feature that BistroMD offers. Every BistroMD customer has the option to use MybistroMD.com where you can opt out from receiving any meal that you don't care for. You can also select your favorites as preferences so you will get them more often.

I love that this tool is available. As great as this food is, it is just like with a restaurant, no one is going to like every since item, so BistroMD made it even easier to eat only things you love.

DAY 2

Breakfast: Odyssey Chicken Crepes with Waldorf Apples.

Once again, this was perfection. This is my first even time eating a crepe(another thing I have always wanted to try). They were fabulous.

These had chicken and cheese(feta?), spinach(I like it in certain things, just not plain) and olives. Everything went together so well and it was so unique.

I love Waldorf apples, and these were incredible, the craisins really made it and of course the apples were perfect.

Lunch: Island Spiced Pork, Grilled Plantains and Jerk Cauliflower.

I love this meal. The cauliflower was really good. It was not too mushy which I love. The pork was moist and flavorful, and that tropical sauce made it really special.

To my surprise, the plantains were my favorite. I have never tried plantains before(are you seeing a pattern yet?), but they were to die for. So much flavor. I wish I knew how to make these.

Dinner: Vegetable & Beef Stir Fry with Rice and Sugar Snap Peas.

This is probably my favorite dinner. I really love beef. I was so surprised that there was so much beef. When I saw Vegetable & Beef, I assumed there would only be couple pieces, but on the contrary. There was actually hardly any vegetables(which is awesome to me).

This beef tastes just like something you would get from a Chinese restaurant. It is really that good.

The rice was awesome and the perfect texture. I even really liked the Sugar Snap peas, which is amazing since I hate peas.

DAY 3

Breakfast: Chicken Apple Sausage, Blueberry Waffles and Raspberry Orange Syrup.

I love waffles, and blueberry waffles are even better, so I knew I would love them. But that syrup is more delicious that I could have imagined. It is bright and sweet with a hint of tartness, and it goes beautifully with these yummy blueberry waffles.

The Chicken Apple Sausage is really good too. It is different and I love that. I love getting meat along with an already awesome breakfast. I have to eat this again.

Lunch: Jerk Chicken With Mango Chutney, Spinach and Okra Tomato Stew.

This was good. Like I said before, nit a huge fan of spinach, but this was actually seasoned fairly well making it much easier for me to eat.

The chicken was awesome. A little spicy from the Jerk aspect, but the Mango Chutney cooled it down, and I adore mango so that was awesome. I have never had fruit with chicken before, but this totally works.

The Okra Stew was good too, like a tomato soup tricked out.  Very comforting and tasty.

Dinner: Salmon with Pepper Coulis.

As I already said, fish, not my thing, but this one I liked better than the other Salmon. It must be the sauce. I however really did not care for the Pepper Coulis. I am sure it was because of the spinach.

That is my least favorite thing from the menu, but I could still eat it, and I bet many people would love it.

But that is why I love that you can opt out of the meals you don't like. Such a great feature.

DAY 4

Breakfast: Berry Crepes with Turkey Sausage.

This was my first experience with sweet crepes, and OMG they were fantastic. It is sweetened (low fat)cream cheese with cinnamon, and a Berry Compote for the top.

These are so indulgent. I am so angry at myself for never eating crepes before now.

The Sausage is really good(different than the above turkey sausage). I am so amazed at the 2 large patties I got in addition to the magnificent crepes. I am so in love with this breakfast.

Lunch: Tofu Curry Stew.

This was my least favorite lunch, and I would not order it again, but it actually was not too bad. I hate tofu, so I was expecting this to be dreadful, but the stew itself it wonderful, and made the tofu taste better.

The stew is creamy and kind of sweet but also has the curry flavor. It is very unique and would be good alone as a side dish or something, or excellent for fans of Tofu.

Dinner: Chicken Breast Stuffed with Broccoli and Cheddar with Barley Salad and Butternut Squash.

This dinner was wonderful. I loved everything about it. The chicken had a nice smoky flavor, the cheddar broccoli filling was fabulous. Real, big chunks of broccoli and real cheese, evem the brocoli itself tasted like cheese.

The barley salad was light and tasted like olive oil and a hint of garlic. The butternut squash was delish. Sweet and savory and the perfect texture.

DAY 5

Breakfast: English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich(Egg white, Turkey Sausage, White Cheddar Cheese).

This was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever eaten, and certainly the best on a muffin(I like some on biscuits). So unbelievable tasty.

The muffin came out PERFECT. It was so toasty but not soggy or crunchy, and even though it was whole grain, I loved the flavor, the sausage was so flavorful, and you could really taste the amazing cheese, even the egg white had flavor which is rare.

It was super satisfying and kept me full for hours. Amazing breakfast sandwich.

Lunch: Pulled Pork Carolina with Baked Beans and Spiced Corn.

I am addicted to BBQ. I love that I was able to have it at all, and especially that it tasted so fantastic. This was so moist and full of BB flavor. The sauce was amazing, and I love that it was not smothered in it(Like BBQ soup, yuk).

The beans were really good and the corn was extraordinary. So much bold flavor, but it still tasted like fresh sweet corn. Perfection.

Dinner: Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach served with Wild Mushroom Sauce, Peas and Veggie Blend.

I am not a fan of peas at all, but with the mushroom sauce, these were not bad. The veggie blend was really tasty, and the chicken was out of this world.

Even though it was stuffed with spinach, there was also cheese or something and it tasted incredible. The chicken was flavorful and moist, and the mushroom sauce was so good.

This is something that could easily be served in a restaurant, very very good. It is always a sing of a great dish when you enjoy a food you normally would not even eat.

I am so sad that my 5 days of BistroMD are over. It flew by so quickly and I am already missing these amazing foods.

Everything was so fresh and perfectly cooked. They are so easy to prepare and they really satisfy not only your taste buds, but your body by supplying key nutrients.

One tip that I have heard a lot and that BistroMD even prints on the packing is to plate all your meals to make them look more appetizing, and if that will help you, I say do for it, but I have always been the type to eat out of a carton or paper plate, napkin, whatever.

Once you taste these, you won't care what it looks like anyway, and part of what I love so much, is that I don't have to was dishes(for myself) when eating these meals. So for me, they trays are a bonus perk.

This would even be wonderful for people whose wight is fine and just want fast, easy delicious meals for one.

If you are trying to lose wight, and can afford a good plan, than I strongly urge you to try BistroMD, you will be wishing you had found it sooner.

In just 5 days, I lost 2 pounds! That is a lot so quickly, and to be eating like this(Plus I ate healthy snacks), it's almost magic. I am so happy.

I really hope that I will be able to continue to review this amazing program for all of you so you can see my continued wight loss as well as all the other tantalizing meals that BistroMD offers.

*Although I received this at no cost to facilitate a review, all opinions are 100% my own*

  3. I wish I could afford Bistro Md. But I think that the food looks so delicious, and to have your meals with the perfect portions, is something that I could use! I need to lose weight, too. I try to eat a healthy diet, but my disability keeps me from exercising. I can walk maybe 3 blocks and that is it.. That is why a diet that is healthy is important to me. Good luck with your diet plan!!!

  16. Wish I could get a 25 percent discount. I spend around 100 dollars every two weeks. So to pay 159 a week is quite steep.
