Google Chromecast - See it. Stream it.

Anyone who knows me knows I love TV. I love movies, and I watch them semi-often, but I am obsessed with TV series. I think it is because TV shows can take their time more, lay the groundwork, really tell the story thoroughly and build compelling characters. Also, just because I can enjoy the content longer than a two hour movie.

Anyway, I get obsessed. I binge-watch everything. If I miss a show's first season or two, I often wait for the entire series to end so I can watch without waiting for new seasons. I am a binge-watching pro. And I just found something that makes it even easier. Google Chromcast Streaming Media Player. Stream all your content to your TV with just a tap of your phone.

I already had a smart TV in the living room, where I do all of my watching, but for some reason the Youtube app on the TV stopped working, it just gets stuck. With Chromecast I can watch Youtube again. There are several cool shows on there that are free. Plus music and how-to videos and much more. Chromecast has so many more apps than Youtube and YoutubeTV, though. Over 2000, in fact. Netflix and Hulu, of course, but also HBO Now and many, many more.

If you have Google Home, you can access TV/Movies with just you're voice! I am lazy and always losing remotes, so I LOVE that feature. They work seamlessly together. I can just say: "Okay Google, play Roswell in the living room." and BAM, I'm watching Roswell. (The best SciFi drama of all time, IMO.)

Chromcast turns "dumb" TVs into smart TVs. Hubby still has his non-smart big screen in our bedroom. He never really cared, but I always wanted to get Netflix in there. We used to use a DVD player that was smart capable, but the DVD part broke and it was too bulky to keep in there for just Netflix. Now he can have a smart TV too, and I can make him stream all the shows I have been telling him to watch.

My daughter as well, she is 7 and does not have cable in her room. She only has a (non-smart) DVD player, but now she can have Netflix (and Hulu, etc) in there too. She loves it! It's so nice to upgrade to "smart TVs" without paying for a whole new TV. Chromecast works with any TV that is HDMI compatible.

If you are looking for a better streaming experience, I recommend Chromecast. You can find it at Best Buy. You could get it elsewhere, too, but Best Buy has great prices and knowledgeable associates always ready to answer your questions. I'm off to stream some shows, but I'd love to know what you think of Chromecast, your experience if you've used it. Or what you are most interested in if you haven't. Let's discuss in the comments.
