Ozeri Digital Kitchen Scale Review and Giveaway

I have always seen and heard about kitchen scales, but for the longest time I associated them only with diets, and I wanted no part of that, lol.

But what I have realized is that is they are great for measuring for recipes or creating actual serving sizes of snacks and such, and I decided that I should really try one.

So of course Since I have had positive past experiences from Ozeri, I decided to rely on them again for my first kitchen scale-the Ozeri Gourmet Digital Kitchen Scale.

Not only is this a kitchen scale, it is also a clock, thermometer and kitchen timer as well. Which is really awesome since I always need a kitchen timer and never manage to have one.

I adore this scale. Seriously, the kitchen timer is awesome and I like having the clock in case something is in the microwave and I can't see the clock on that) Also the thermometer is awesome. I like to know how hot it is in the kitchen where I am cooking rather than what the thermostat says the house temp is.

But I really LOVE the scale aspect. Even more so than I thought I would. I did not think I would use it all the time, but I really do.

I use this awesome scale every day to weigh out serving sized portions for my son to snack on and take with him for lunch at school.

For example with his Goldfish crackers, 30 grams is a serving size, so I can measure it out exactly now.

I use this to measure my snacks as well. Like my beloved Creme Brulee almonds. Unfortunately now I have no excuse for eating too many since I know how much 1oz is with the scale.

I really love the white color on this, it looks super sleek and modern. It is lightweight but still durable and it has anti-slip grips on the bottom to keep it in place. It not so big as to take up half your counter space, but still large enough to hold whatever you are weighing.

Starbox Review

 I really love cosmetics. I especially love trying as many different things as I can, because often I find I really like things that are not my normal "go to" items, things I would not normally buy.That is why the idea of monthly beauty boxes is very appealing to me.

The problem with that however, is that out of the many beauty boxes I have tried, I never found one that I wanted to stick with for longer than the first month or two. I came to realize that the sample sized products I was getting was not worth the price(to me).

Don't get me wrong, I am all for samples, but I like my samples free. Or at least worth the price I am paying.

But, I FINALLY found a monthly beauty box that is not only worthy of the very reasonable price tag, it far exceeds it. Starbox is my beauty box hero.

Eye Shadow Pigment (Posh):

I actually LOVE this! I usually opt for neutrals and bronze type colors for my eye shadow, but I love the way this looks.  I love that you can apply it dark and bold or light and shimmery. The shimmer of this is gorgeous.

Of course the color and shimmer would not matter if the product itself was not up to par, but this pigment is phenomenal. It is so easy to use. Does on super smooth and evenly. It lasts forever without caking or smearing, and is super lightweight and comfortable.  

This is arguably one of the best eye colors I have EVER used. To me, if all I got for the $15 price was this, I'd be super happy.

But... You get way more!

Eye Pencil (Gold Dust):

This is a really great pencil. It glides on effortlessly and accurately. It feels smooth and soft to apply and wear. The color is really true, you can easily build the level of intensity.

This is great as a liner or to wear as a shadow. The color is so pretty. I love that it is rich, not chalky or translucent like others tend to be sometimes. I love the shimmer. It really makes your eyes POP.

This is a really good quality pencil and it shows. Other pencils irritate my eyes sometimes ot are just difficult to use, but this pencil is a winner.


Lipstick (Masquerade):

This lipstick is wonderful. It glides on so smoothly it feels like a lip balm. Very creamy and comfortable to wear. The color is rich, but not too dark or opaque. Just a hint of shimmer and orange tint make this red lip color really stand out. Not your momma's red lipstick, that's for sure. 

Honestly, I do not usually wear red lipstick, but I like this one a lot. It is probably the best one I've used to date. I actually plan to wear this from time to time to mix up my look. That says a lot. Trust me, if this was not a great lipstick, I would never wear red.

Bonus Surprise - Eye Tattoos:

These are super awesome. I did not use them yet though. I am saving these to wear on Halloween. I know they will look killer though.

Although I am not the talented makeup artist, I still want to use the best tools available. I always look for  the best quality cosmetic brands to make the best of what I have. Because no matter how talented or untalented you are at applying cosmetics, quality makes a huge difference. Good can turn bad and bad can turn horrible it using sub par quality.

Liquid Define Eyeliner:

I love how you can make such super clean lines with this. It is so smooth without being too runny. Definitely now too dry. Waterproof, super long lasting, and nearly instant drying so it will not smear or transfer.

I love you you can make a very thin line or a thicker line without having to go over the line twice.

 Natural Smoky eye pencil:

I love this pencil. Smooth, silky application, will not smudge, waterproof, long lasting. This product is awesome. So easy to use, smudge to your liking or leave as is. Smokey eyes made easy.

Bronze Amulet Goddess Pencil:

I really love the color of this pencil. I almost always choose gold tones for my eye color, so this was right up my alley. I love how you can lay it on dark or make it softer and lighter. Can be used alone or to highlight the eyes with other colors.

Of course this pencil is also super easy to use, goes on smooth, lasts all day/night and is smudge proof/waterproof.



Charcoal Obsidian Smokey Goddess Pencil: 

This color is so nice. The pictures do not do justice to the wonderful iridescent shimmer of this color. It is very beautiful.  It looks very nice and elegant when applied lightly, but can also be applied normal/heavy for a bold look.

With the smooth texture and the ability to last all day, you will fall in love with this pencil for sure.

Boylan Soda Review and Giveaway

I love soda. I try not to drink it all the time though. I like to say it for a once a day treat, usually with my dinner.

But now I found a soda brand that really makes it a treat. Boylan Bottling Company makes All Natural Soda made with real cane sugar.


I recently had the pleasure of trying Boylan's Winter Wonderbox.

The Winter Wonderbox contains for of Boylan's Wonderful festive flavors.

Black Cherry:

This wonderful flavor is rich and smooth with just a hint of boldness. With flavors of assorted cherries as well as cherry bark and bourbon vanilla, this soda is wonderful depth of flavor.

This is a far cry from your standard big brand cherry flavored artificial junk. You can really taste the quality in this soda. I like to compare this soda to a fine wine. Great alone and a wonderful accent to food. Have this with a nice steak and you will be left regretting that is took you so long to discover this soda.

Cherry has always been one of my most favorite soda flavors, but After tasting this, it is like having my first taste of cherry soda. And I guess it is, becuase this is the only REAL cherry soda I've ever had.


Root Beer:

I love pretty much any root beer, but this cane sugar sweetened natural root beer is way better than any I have ever tried by far.

Rich and spicy with just the right creaminess. This is BOLD, and not for passive soda drinkers. Drink this if you want your soda to be an experience, not just a beverage. 

And as tempted as you will be to just gulp this down, don't. Savor the flavor and enjoy the experience of this perfectly Old Fashioned Root Beer.

And if you want an over the top fantastic treat, make Boylan Root Beer Floats. OMG they were to die for. I will Definitely be making these more often.


Creamy Red Birch Beer:

This is my very first Birch Beer of any kind, so I really have no basis for comparison, but I do know what tastes good, and this certainly makes the list.

To me, this tastes similar to root beer since root beer contains birch as well. But I love the rich creamy flavor of the vanilla.

This is a unique flavor that is the perfect treat for the whole family. This makes one heck of a float too. Really creamy and delicious.


Ginger Ale:

I'll admit that historically, I have never really been a fan of Ginger Ale. However, this Boylan Ginger Ale has a really nice light, clean flavor that I actually quite enjoy.

I believe the cane sugar plays a huge roll in my fondness of this Ginger Ale as well as the fact that it is all natural.

This is the perfect accompaniment to seafood of all kinds. I tried it alongside my shrimp scampi and it was very refreshing. This also makes a wonderful mixer.


Overall, I am incredible impressed with each of these Boylan varieties. The quality really shows through, you can really tell this is not just your everyday soda(although you will want one everyday).

Another that I think is really neat that further sets Boylan apart is that every variety is caffeine free, making them perfect for children or to enjoy in the evening time, and of course for anyone sensitive to caffeine. RW Garcia Tortilla Chips Review and Giveaway

Do you love to snack? Do you wish great tasting snacks could also be healthy? Well, me too. That is why I am always trying to find the best snacks for myself, my family, and to share with you.

When I eat a healthy snack, I don't usually want to feel like it is a healthy snack. I just want a snack that is delicious, and if I focus on the health aspect to much, it makes my mind reject the snack before I even eat it. Setting me up for disaster.

So when I find a snack that I love that is also healthy, I have to share. My newest find? RW Garcia Tortilla Chips.

RW Garcia makes Premium Tortilla Chips in many varieties. Not only so they offer the traditional tortilla chips(in yellow corn and blue corn), they also offer Veggie Tortilla Chips, Flax seed Tortilla Chips, Dippers(strips) and mixed bags.

Also, the Dippers and Flax Seed varieties come in yummy unique flavors.

I have tried 5 varieties on RW Garcia Chips, and they are all delicious. The flavors I've tried are:


MixtBag Blue & Yellow:

 This go to chip. Classic yellow Corn and Blue Corn Tortilla Chips with just the slightest hint of lime(very subtle). These are the chips to keep on hand and pull out at any need. Perfect for dipping, nachos or snacking all by themselves. This is the ideal family chip since anyone can add their favorite dip to change up the snacking experience.

These are the perfect texture and just the right about of salt. Not too much salt like many brands. I ate them with Salsa and they were delish.


MixtBag Red & Yellow:

Similar to the Blue & Yellow mixed bag, but also completely different. I love the bold red color, but, the flavor and texture are also different. The red chips are made from white corn and beet powder.

I made some killer nachos with these. My husband loved them, and he though the color was awesome.



3 Seed Blue Corn Dippers:

All the yummy goodness of Blue Corn chips with the added goodness of Flax seeds, Chia Seeds and Sesame Seeds.

These have an awesome texture, uniquely yummy flavor and of course an awesome shape that makes them perfect for dipping. Amazing with Guacamole.



3 Seed Veggie Dippers:

These chips are really yummy. Not only do you get the awesomeness of the yellow corn, you also get the yummy and healthy seeds, and to top it off you get the veggies. What more could you ask for?

There are 3 flavors of strip in this bag: Spinach & Garlic, Red Beet & Onion and Carrot, Tomato & Sesame.

These chips are the perfect healthy snack for kids, especially if you add in some dip. Ranch and French Onion Dip go great with these delicious chips.


Curry & Mango Dippers:

I was intrigued and nervous about this flavor. I have never had something this unique in a chip flavor before. The 3 seed and corn are great in this as expected, but the Curry mango flavor was really yummy too.

I ate these plain of course, but I also tried them with(believe it or not) apple butter, and they were killer.  I know it sounds strange, and I probably would not believe how good it is had I not tried it myself. These would probably be good with any number of dips.

One thing is for sure. No matter what you pair these with, you will get a really unique snack.


I am very impressed with each of these yummy snacks. The fact that they are also healthy is wonderful. They are low in fat. None of the varieties contain more than 8g of fat per serving. The MixtBags contain only 6g per serving, which is really good.

Every variety is All Natural, Glueten Free and Non-GMO. This is a snack that you can truly feel good about eating and serving your family. They thank you now because it takes good and later because they feel good.
