Squirrel Brand and Southern Style Nuts Review

I love nuts, but they have to be good quality, and it is very easy to tell if they are not. I have tried many brands and some are good and others are very bad.

Until now, I never found a brand of nuts that I just adore. But Squirrel Brand is AMAZING! As is it's sister company Southern Style Nuts.

The main difference between these two brands is the quality. Southern Style nuts is great quality, but Squirrel Brand is Gourmet quality, gift worthy. While Southern Style nuts would also make a good gift, they are not as fancy as Squirrel Brand, because they are really affordable. Perfect for the budget minded consumer.

I was able to try a selection of products from both brands.

Squirrel Brand:

Cafe Carmellata au Sel Pecans:

These are to die for. The big pecans are soft and crisp, and the flavor forms a crispy-crunchy coating(glaze) that is actually a part of the nut, not just sprinkled on top.

These are so rich and buttery with a hint of espresso and a touch of sea salt. The combination is amazing and very hard to describe in words. All I can say is YUM!

The tin these come in is gorgeous(and bigger gift boxed tins are available), so it is ideal for a gift for any occasion(housewarming, hostess gift, birthday, Christmas, etc). I know I would be thrilled to receive these as a gift(hint hint).

Crème Brûlée Almonds:

I am so in love with these almonds. Almonds have always been one of my favorite nuts, but I never thought they could taste this good.

Once again, I am at a loss for word to describe just how amazing these are or exactly what they taste like. These taste like love in food form.

These taste creamy, buttery and sweet. They are quite crunchy(as almonds are already then a glaze on top), but not overly so. Once again, the flavor is coated on, so it won't get all over your hands, or worse, fall off the nut.

These nuts are good enough to make a great gift if presented in a ziplock bag, but give someone a gift box of these and they will probably tackle you and smother you with kisses(which will be pretty awkward depending on who you give them to, lol)

Southern Style Nuts:

Hunter Mix:

Hunter Mix is the perfect go to mix. It is so universal containing cashews, almonds peanuts and a variety of sesame sticks and seeds. This snack is sure to satisfy even the most haunting cravings.

Spicy Hunter Mix:

Taking the tried and true Hunter Mix to a new level by adding some bold flavorful spices to turn up the heat. I am not a huge fan of spicy, but I like this and spice fans will love it.

Smoky Coastal Blend:

Truthfully, I was a little weary of this product at first. I was worried the sweetness of the fruit would not pair well with the smoky seasoning used in this variety, but I was wrong. This is a very unique combination that is the best of both words.

If you are looking for something outside the box, try this blend.

Nomadic Blend:
This is the blend with the most variety. With cashews, peanuts and walnuts as well as cranberries and raisins, not to mention honey and salt. This flavor has it all and does it right.

Vanilla Buttercream Pecans:
This is my favorite variety of Southern Style Nuts, since I adore sweet, dessert style nuts. These are comparable to Squirrel Brand with their sweet decadence. A real special treat at a fantastic value.

Milk & Honey Blend:

My second favorite flavor, because as I mentioned, I love the sweet blends. I love yogurt raisins, and they are a wonderful addition to the yummy honey roasted peanuts in this blend. This is especially ideal for children. Perfect for every snacking ocassion, and perfectly portable for lunches, trips etc.

If you are looking for a great quality brand of nuts, you cannot go wrong with either of these, and between the two brands, you are certian to find what you are looking for and then some.  Now stop drooling on your computer and go buy your own.

*Although I received these for the purpose of a review, all opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.*
