Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel and Endless Silky Eye Pen Review

If you happened to see the review I did of Pixi a couple weeks back, you were introduced to one of my new favorite beauty brands. I have very high standards, especially where cosmetics are concerned. I only like(and especially only recommend) the best.

Pixi not only meets my high expectations, but actually exceeds them, which is nearly impossible to do. I was blown away by the two Pixi products I tried, so much so that I had to get my hands on some more.

This time around, I got Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel and Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen.

Both of these products are so incredible. I love them to pieces.

Sheer Cheek Gel in Flushed:

I will be totally honest and admit that I was a little bit intimidated by how dark this is, but remember this is a sheer gel, and it is not nearly so bold when applied. In fact it looks very natural and vibrant. I adore it.

I even used it to give some subtle color to my lips, and it worked similar to a lip stain. I really like how it turned out. (Please excuse the poor condition of my lips.)

Of course it looks perfect on my cheeks as well, which the finished look will show.

Endless Silky Eye Pen in Copper Glow:

This color is GORGEOUS! I fell in love at first sight. I am all about the bronzy, copper, brown, golden, tones. I love rich browns, especially ones with a touch of shimmer. This is completely me in every way.

Not only is the color stunning, the silkiness(hence the name) is out of this world. It glides on so smoothly. There is not even the tiniest resistance. The liner goes on flawlessly and it feels so amazing. Not heavy, thick, dry or greasy feeling at all.

It is so flexible. It will not crease or crumble. It does not fade, smear or run. It stays in place and keeps it's smooth feel and appearance all day, even when worn on the eyelid. I love to wear liner as shadow sometimes, but most liners are too dry to pull it off. This one looks like it was designed to be worn this way. I love it so much.

All I added was mascara, and my entire eye look was finished. So quick and easy, but so striking. It's not overdone, but not too subtle either. I love this look for day or night, and it is so versatile it could be worn with anything.

I love they way the eyes work with the Sheer Cheek Gel(on cheeks and lips).

Hair up or down, I feel it works perfectly. Darker lips could be added for a bolder look, but I like this. It is soft and natural. I don't really do really flashy looks, so this fits me very well.

Of course it is the impeccable quality of Pixi Beauty that makes the look. If the products were not of superb quality, it would really show, especially in such a subtle look. Subtly is the true test of quality, because you can't just cover imperfections with more product.

Pixi truly shines. Their products are fabulous, and that is just from the few I have tried. I know I will be trying more, and I am confident they will blow me away as all the others have.

If you are looking for superior quality cosmetics, Pixi is perfect. Not only do they work, but the colors are stunning and the products have the youthful style that we crave. I don't want grandma colors and products just to get timeless quality. Thankfully with Pixi, I don't have to worry about that(and neither do you).

In fact, if you are not as up to date on the new makeup trends as you'd like to be, you could just keep up with Pixi and you would always have the hot new product.

Get Schooled with Gillette

The time is here. Back to school. Parents are shopping, planning and even panicking(a little), trying to make sure that the school year kicks off without a hitch. This is especially true of parents of younger kids(first timers especially).

The veterans kind of have more of a routine, and they don't really worry about anything. That is a great thing, but it could also be counter productive in some ways. As children get older, their needs change, so even if you have the old routine down, you may need to step it up in certain areas.

As children get closer to adulthood, they begin to need adult things. Things that may be forgotten when planning out the school year needs. Mom's of teens girls tends to make note of needs like razors, an if not, the girls certainly will. But what about young men that are starting to get(or already have) facial hair?

I think that is an area that is all but forgotten when back to school rolls around, but it is just as important as all the other aspects. One of the most vital things for anyone is confidence. And weather he wants a clean shave or a nicely groomed look, he will still need the proper tools to achieve it. Be sure that he has them.

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to try the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor and Fusion ProGlide Sensitive Shave Gel.

Both products are amazing. Not only did my husband get a super close, smooth, shave, his face was not irritated at all as it often is with other razors/shaving cream. He said it was so much faster and easier to shave with than other razors.

He said he used to go over the same part 2 or more times to get a shave as close as these products provided him. All I can say is it certainly felt smooth to me. Not the least bit prickly when I kissed him. I loved it.

Since the razor came with 2 cartridges, I decided to put it to the real test and shave my legs with it(and the Sensitive Shave Gel). The due was incredible together. I love how close the shave is. There is not tugging or irritation at all. I actually like the slimmer shape of the cartridge over the large woman's ones I normally use.

The best feature in my opinion is how well the blades last. Usually I use a razor or cartridge only once before I throw it away, but I used it 3 times and it was perfect each time. I probably could have done more, but did not want to take the chance.

The long lasting aspect makes these not only the best quality, but the best value. Even if you spend a little more than you would on lesser products, you get twice as many(or more) uses, so it is actually saving you money.

I think that Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razors and Shave Gel are not only essential for High School and College boys(or girls) to return to school with the confidence that comes with a great shave but for every man that wants an incredible shave.

I highly recommend these products, and so does my dear husband. If we had an older son, Gillette would be at the top of our back to school essentials list. Until then, more Gillette for us.

Nutrisystem week 26 Update

Sorry I am a little late posting this week, things are hectic around here. Appointments, Back to School shopping, hubby adjusting to his new job, and just having both kids home all day(my son had extra school part of the summer because of his autism).

With so much going on, I am actually really glad that Nutrisystem has my back. If I was dieting on my own I would have to think up and then prepare healthy meals, and that would be way too much effort right now.

Nutrisystem makes it SO easy though. Ever meal category is labeled in a different color, making it incredible easy to grab the meal you need without having to search. Plus, since every meal is perfectly portioned, you never have to plan one meal based on what you ate at another meal. Mix and match an entree from each category, add in your veggies, snacks, Smart Carbs, and Power Fuels and you are done.

Losing weight has never been easier. Nothing I have tried before Nutrisystem has worked for me, especially not self dieting, because I had no idea how to eat. I would either starve myself or I would do very low fat, but still consume too many calories(by eating too much of the wrong foods).

Worse still is that most of the other foods I used to eat in an effort to lose weight tasted horrible. Nutrisystem food is delicious, and the portions are quite fair which is VERY important to me. I hate to be hungry.

So far today I already had Golden Waffles with sugar free syrup and a Refreshing Coffee Protein Shake fro breakfast and a fat free yogurt for my morning snack. And I get luck very shortly, followed by an afternoon snack, dinner and dessert.

That is why it is so easy to stick to. Great taste, full belly, easy to prepare, large selection of foods. I mean, what more could you really ask in a diet?

Oh, how about results? Well, Nutrisystem dominates in that area as well. I see the results every day in the mirror and every week on the scale, and I couldn't be happier.

This week I lost...

2.4 POUNDS and 1/2 INCH!!

That brings my 26 week total up to...

55.2 POUNDS and 25 1/2 INCHES!!

I am so so proud of how far I have come so far. I never thought I would reach this milestone, and I am not finished yet. I have 2 weeks left on my Nutrisystem journey. And now that I know how to eat, I will continue on my own.

Oh, and even though I hit my 50lb milestone a couple weeks ago, I just got my 50lb Nutribear, and I am so so proud of it.

My goal is to earn my 60lb bear by week 28(the conclusion of my Nutrisystem journey). Even if I don't, I have already accomplished so much on Nutrisystem. Nutrisystem changed my life. It's the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Get Grounded In Style. Groundals Review & GIVEAWAY!!

The Summer weather is here, with a vengeance. Although it is so hot you don't want to even set foot outside, you do want to take advantage of beach and pool weather, get a tan and all that wonderful summer fun, even at the risk of melting.

And of course there are always errands to be done and places to go, so you can't really barricade yourself inside and live in the AC all day.

When you do step out, it is essential that you do so properly. By that I mean in the perfect shoes. Personally, I hate shoes, especially in the summer. I always get the urge to go barefoot get my feet in the sand, feel the sun, etc. But the harsh reality is, that comes with a risk of real burns. If you don't protect your feet from hot concrete, asphalt(especially) and even sand, you will pay for it.

Sneakers are a huge no no. Nobody wants big, clunky, hot, stuffy shoes killing their feet and cramping their style. I know I certainly don't. So what's the alternative? Ballet flats? Not for sand or dirt. Flip flops? Yeah, I guess, but they are so uncomfortable and so casual. I needed something better.

That is where Groundals come in. They saved my feet and my summer style.

They are so cute. I love the shape and the fabulous matte gold color(more colors available), with the classic black soles, they are fabulous.

I love that they have the awesome ridges on the inner sides, under the strap and at the toes to give you comfortable wear, amazing support and a secure fit. There is nothing worse then slipping inside your sandals, and that happens to me all the time.

They fit so well, and feel amazing. I know they are going to stay on, but they are not tight or constrictive at all. They mold to my feet perfectly, and are not too hard, although they are not squishy either. They are just perfect.

When I step, they do not make me bounce, nor do I feel the impact of the ground. It feels like walking barefoot, only better. It is incredible.

The thong design is so stylish(love that look), and best of all, it does not dig between my toes like most thongs do, which is really rare and highly important. The style is perfect to rock with any look. Perfect with jeans, shorts, skirts, activewear or swimwear.

I am embarrassed about my legs, so I tend to wear jeans, even in the summer, and they looked terrific with my jeans(although I desperately need a pedicure).

They even have a fabulous flower design on the bottom, making them not only look more fancy on the bottom, but allowing them to create designed footprints when worn in the sand.

And since there is no fabric or porous material on these shoes, even if they get wet, they remain in perfect condition. Dirt can just be washed away, and you never have to worry about them falling apart, or getting dirty or smelly. They will look fabulous for years. 

Of course the main feature of Groundals is to make you grounded. While I am certainly no expert on grounding, I know that it is how humans were meant to be, and that being grounded as often as possible is very beneficial to us.

For those who do not know, to be grounded it to be in direct electrical contact with the Earth. This allows us to absorb the Free Electrons that the Earth is charged with from the Sun and thousands of daily lightning strikes. These electrons can bond with the free radicals in our bodies, allowing them to become stable.

When we walk outside barefoot, we are grounded, but as I touched on above, that is not always an option. Groundals help bridge the gap. The allow us to be grounded to the earth while still protecting our feet(and dressing them u in stylish footwear).

LUGZ Zosho Slip On Review & GIVEAWAY!!!

If you have been following my reviews for awhile, you are probably well aware of my husband's and my obsession with LUGZ. Lugz is my husband's all time favorite shoe brand now, after he fell in love with mine simply by seeing how much I adored them.

Since then, we have each had multiple styles of Lugz, and it seems that each pair is better than the last. One of the features that we both love the most is the rugged durability of Lugz. They are heavy duty and made to last.

As fabulous as that is, the premium thickness of the uppers and heaviness of the soles, while perfect for a quality pair of "get the job done" shoes or boots, is not exactly the ideal composition for a "play" shoe, that is quite necessary in the hot summer months.

I mean rugged sneakers are not really what you picture for walk on the beach or a game of Frisbee in the park. You want something lightweight, cool and breathable.

That is why so people often wear flip flops, but they are often not very stylish. They can dig in your toes and fall off. They don't give your feet any support. They let sand, pebbles, sticks and grass attack your feet. Basically, they are pretty useless as shoes.

There needs to be a shoe that offers the best of both worlds. Comfort, support, style, lightweight breath-ability and high quality. Thankfully, Lugz took care of that, just as they always do, by creating the incredible ZOSHO SLIP ON.

These shoes are amazing. My husband knew as soon as he saw them that they were exactly what he has been wishing for. He said to me, "See, they are so light, perfect for wearing around the house, and for errands and stuff."

My husband works recycling. He drives(standing up) the truck and gets in and out(hundreds of times a day) to pick up and sort the bins. Tons of standing, jumping(out of the truck) and walking and running(from bin to bin). That can take a real toll on his legs and feet, especially in heavy work shoes. So when he gets home, the last thing he needs is more heavy shoes.

They are great for doing yard work or home projects, things that need a heavy duty shoe, or for going out a looking great in the perfect sneaker or boot. But when he wants to kick back and relax, the Zosho Slips are a lifesaver.

He loves that they are slip on. It makes it so fast and easy to just throw them on. He puts them on as soon as he gets off work every day, and he has worn them everywhere. He has worn them outside playing with the kids, to the grocery store, the bank etc, etc.

We even hit a few theme parks last month, and he wore the Zosho Slip Ons. It was tons of walking out in the hot Florida heat, and he said his feet felt great all day. there was even water rides(that got us soaked) and some pouring rain, and his Zoshos were wonderful.

I on the other hand went with a heavy sneaker, and my feet were dying after like 15 minutes. They were cramped and suffocating. My legs were getting tired and I got blisters on my toes. It was a nightmare. I tried a different pair(of heavy sneakers) the second time, and it was just just as bad. I decided to walk barefoot all over as an improvement.

I decided that I need a pair of Zosho Slip Ons. I hate hot, heavy, rigid shoes. I want something that will move with me, let my feet breathe, and not drag my legs down, but I need the arch support of a sneaker. I know Lugz has my back with the Zoshos.

Hubby says they are probably the most comfortable(overall) shoes he has ever owned. He has some heavy ones(Lugz as well) that he completely loves, but as a whole, for comfort, style, support, fit, breath-ability, durability, lightweight feel, and quality, the Zosho Slip Ons win hands down(in his words).

The Zoshos really are amazing. They are like a feather to hold, the upper is so well ventilated, the sole is very light, yet cushiony and supportive. It is so flexible, you could fold the shoe in half if you wanted to. The material is so high quality and durable that they would stand up to anything.

Water? No problem. Scuffs? No way. You could throw them off a building or run them over with a truck, and other than maybe getting a little dirty, they would be in perfect condition. I swear, they are indestructible. Finally a shoe that is both tough and "gentle".

Seriously, the style is so awesome. They are so sleek looking. They are simple yet not plain or boring. The have the super cute L logo that is small and understated, Just enough to give them a little bit of pop without distracting from the awesome shape and material.

I love the timelessness of the solid black that I close for hubby, but these also come in black with white soles as well as many other super fun colors. So if you want to brighten your shoe wardrobe, Zoshos are perfect for that as well.

These shoes are perfect for any relaxing occasion or to make outdoor activities more comfortable. No more hot, sweaty(gross) summer feet. No more clunking around at BBQs, picnics, on bike rides, and so on. When you need a shoe to be lightweight and still perform like a heavy duty, then there is no choice but Lugz Zosho Slip Ons. These shoes do it all and more.

Tunky Monkey's Sweet Treats Review & GIVEAWAY!!

As you all probably know already, my darling son just turned 6 years old. For those that don't know, my little man is extra special. He is autistic, which has a vast impact on his social adaptation and stress level.

Basically, anything too exciting can be very overwhelming to the point of making him sick. That has caused many problems for him, and resulted in us limiting how we celebrate with him. We would never want to upset him by trying to make him happy, so we always kept his birthday(and every other special event) very low key.

We did some gifts and cake(which was mainly for pictures since he won't eat it) at home with family, and that was the extent. But he has made extraordinary progress over the past year. He is leaps and bounds above where he was last year at this time.

His intelligent is astounding, and he has improved his communication, social and coping skills tenfold. I am so proud of how far he has come and all the progress he continues to make daily.

That is why I was so happy when he began talking about his birthday and having a party(months ago). It was all he would talk about day after day was birthday party, presents, decorations. While he was excited and anticipating it every day, he was very patient about actually waiting for the day to arrive.

Since this was going to be his first real birthday party, I wanted it to be grandiose.  I did everything I could think of to make this year extra special for him. We visited some theme parks and had venue birthday celebrations with friends, we had a blast.

I still wanted to have our traditional home birthday too, but I wanted to make it a little more fun for him. Since he does not eat cake(or anything with a fork or spoon, ever), I wanted to have a treat that he would like instead.

I know that he would like cake if only he would try it, so I decided to give him exactly that only in a much more fun and festive way. What better than Cake Pops? Of course, not all Cake Pops are created equal, so I did some searching and found a company that I fell in love with.

Tunky Monkey's Sweet Treats is fabulous. The name alone was enough to make me love them, but then seeing the pictures on their site and looking at their huge selection and incredible flavors, I knew they would be perfect to make the special treats for my son's big day.

I reached out the them, and the kindness I was shown in the reply reconfirmed what I already knew, that Tunky Monkey's Sweet treats is a very special company.

I had a few ideas as to the theme, but I had nothing specific in mind. I just gave them free reign to create something fabulous. I was pleasantly surprised to find they were PERFECT.

They came carefully packed with tons of bubble wrap to keep them in pristine condition. They were tied into 3 adorable little goodie bags. They looked so cute.

I love there were different colors, that is so whimsical. They all have the fabulous Blue Puzzle Piece(Autism symbol) as well which I really love.

They all taste phenomenal. And the texture is exquisite. They are so moist and the coating is so creamy and delicious. It is like heaven on a stick. I cannot even express how fabulous they are.

I can say that I cheated on my diet t have a few, and it was totally worth it.

Of course, I am not the only one that loved them. Hubby said they were "epic" and "addictive".

My daughter couldn't say it, but she thought they were great. and her, "Yeah" every time she saw one(meaning she wanted one) was certainly evidence of her love for them.

And of course, the man of the hour, the birthday boy loved them too!!

I knew he would love them if he tried them, and the fun colors and awesomeness of them being on a stick, no fork or plate needed really made them exciting for him.

I am so glad that I finally found a birthday treat that he actually likes. I know how we will be celebrating from now on. Only we will need to get a lot more next time, because we all love them so much.

As beautiful and delicious as these treats were, there was one thing that really made them stand out as superior, and that is the love. I can tell these were made by people who really care. It was especially obvious thanks to the lovely card enclosed with the treats.

If that is not above and beyond, I don't know what is. That is so sweet. The personal touches are what take amazing products and make elite companies. Anyone can have good products, but I will go out of my way for the something extra every time. Tunky Monkey's Sweet Treats has it all.
