Chobani Greek Yogurt Review and Giveaway.

I have been a yogurt lover since childhood. I was(and still am) a fan of the children's yogurts with all the yummy flavors. I know some regular(grown up) brands have tons of flavor choices, but to me, they usually don't taste that good, and they really don't taste like what they are advertized as.

SO finding a great adult yogurt that was not full of fat and calories like many children's counterparts was not as easy as it should have been. I had always heard Greek Yogurt this and Greek Yogurt that, so I decided that I needed to see for myself. With high hopes but reasonable expectations, I tried Chobani Greek Yogurt.

As a Greek Yogurt newbie, I was not sure what to expect, and with these(with the exception of 3 flavors) being fat free, I was worried they might not taste really good. However these were better than any other yogurt I have every tried.

The texture is thick, rich and creamy. The fruit is on the bottom, so you can mix it all the way up, or you can just swirl it, you contol how much fruit taste you want in each bite. I love that.

The flavors are really incredible. A better selection than most yogurt brands I have seen, and they actually taste like what they are supposed to. That, to me is the most important attribute.

So here are the flavors I tried(in order of preference)

Mango(2%):
Mangoes are my favorite fruit, so this is naturally my first choice. But the fact that it really does taste like fresh, juicy, sweet mango makes it really good. It sets Chobani apart from an other yogurt company. You can really tell that this is great quality.

Now I can get my mango fix any time of year. Even in season, it is often hard to find good fresh, ripe mangoes at my local stores. This keeps me rolling in mango deliciousness all year.

Pomegranate(0%):
What an incredible, unique flavor for yogurt. Real pieces of juicy pomegranate make this a very special yogurt treat. Like a fruitcation in a cup. Very yummy.

Pineapple(2%):
I have always loved pineapple, especially with dairy(like ice cream or cottage cheese). I had never had Pineapple yogurt before, but this certainly did not disappoint. Perfect, tartly sweet pineapple with thick creamy yogurt makes this a very tasty tropical escape. I bet this would be amazing in a smoothie.

Apple Cinnamon(0%):

I was unsure weather cinnamon with its warm spicy flavor would be a good fit in yogurt, but this was a really nice treat. I feel this would be a great dessert, especially with the fall approaching. I bet it would be really wonderful mixed and then frozen as an ice cream or holiday apple pie replacement.

It tastes so good you would still feel indulged and your sweet craving would be satisfied without all the regret of fatty or high calorie desserts.

Black Cherry(0%):

Dark, sweet cherries are one of my most favorite fruits. SO many ties though, they are not ripe enough and still taste sour, which for me ruins the experience. This yogurt captures sweet cherries at their best and uses them as the perfect addition to this creamy treat.

Raspberry(0%):
Berries and yogurt always pair perfectly, but this raspberry is a nice change of pace from the standard berry varieties. Sweet and slightly tangy, this raspberry yogurt will surly be a favorite of any berry lover.

Blood Orange(0%):
This is am amazingly unique flavor. I remember the first Blood Orange I had as a child. I thought it was just a regular orange until I cut into it, and it was the best orange I ever had.

I love the flavor of this yogurt, but I was hoping it would be a little more sweet and a little less tangy as generally Blood Oranges are. However this has a really nice unique citrus flavor. Perfect if you want something that breaks the yogurt mold.

Strawberry Banana(2%):

Strawberry Banana has become the quintessential yogurt flavor it would seem, but this Chobani Greek yogurt takes it to a whole new level. This tastes more grown up than many others of the same flavor. This is the perfect way to reminisce about one's childhood, without retreating to a lesser quality product.

Blueberry(0%):

When I did buy other yogurt brands, Blueberry was always my go to flavor. It seemed that Blueberry was always the best captured flavor(hardest to mess up I guess). However, Chobani Blueberry has created a higher standard for me now, that cannot be met by other yogurts.

Peach(0%):
My second place flavor when buying other brands of yogurt. Normally very tasty, others have been blown away by this Chobani Fat Free Greek Peach Yogurt. The juicy chunks of peach really make this pop. Sweet and fresh tasting, this is a peachy delight.

Strawberry(0%):
There is no reason for this being so far down the list other than the fact that all flavors could not be number one.

I think I am most burnt out on Strawberry since every brand makes strawberry, and it tends to make it seem more mundane. Chobani Strawberry tastes far from mundane however. Strawberry lovers rejoice, Chobani saves the day again.

Plain(0%):

I do not really care for the taste of plain yogurt, although if I did, this Greek yogurt would surely take the cake. I used this to make dip though(instead of sour cream), and it was amazing. It made me feel good to be using a healthier alternative, and it tasted just as good, if not better.

This would be great if you love to add your own toppings. The possibilities are endless.

Every flavor offers a very nice portion. The thick texture and high protein content makes these very filling. Making them perfect to hold you over between meals, to have as a healthier dessert, or even to eat as a nutritious breakfast.  If you have never tasted Chobani or Greek Yogurt of any kind, I highly recommend giving at least one of these amazing flavors a try.

  6. I LOVE Chobani! Sadly, I don't buy it often because the stores around here don't carry many flavors and it's sort of pricey for my budget.
