Dr. Praeger's Sensible Foods Review

If you know me, you know that I love to eat. In the past, I even considered it a hobby, and I was very good at it. I still am at times, but now I am also good about it. I've smartened up and realized that not only do I need to eat well, I need to eat good. By that I mean foods that are good for me.

Since I am trying to achieve and maintain the body I want, I have to take the necessary actions to get there. One step, of course, is cutting out the fatty, unhealthy foods I love, but the lesser known step is to eat things that are not only lower in fat and calories, but higher in nutritional content.

Doing this not only helps you feel more satisfied by your food, and gives your body the nutrients it needs to give you energy, and make you feel healthy, so you can be active. Plus, eating the right foods can even give your metabolism a boost. (Who couldn't use that?)

Of course for me, taste has always been the number one thing I am concerned with where food is concerned. Finding foods that are good for your taste buds, waistline and overall health is not easy, but it actually can be done. Who better to find a way than a doctor?

That is why I trusted Dr Praeger's to be healthy and weight friendly.
One thing I was not so sure about was how good it would taste, I was optimistic, but I had no clue I would love this stuff so much, especially considering it is vegetarian and I am a meat lover.

I tried three varieties, and they are all amazing.

Asian Veggie Burgers:
These are really good. They have a great Teriyaki type flavor, and the texture is great. They have nice chunks of veggies, but the "meat" part is not full of nasty hard bits like some meatless patties. T

hey are actually moist too. I did not try any as a burger though, I had them plain. They are pretty filling, and it was a great change of pace. I've never had anything like this. The fact that I ate them more than once means I really like them.

Thai Veggie Burgers:
Once again, I never had it as a burger, but they are really good. I love that you can really see what you are eating, and you can taste everything. It's not some gray mystery patty that is one boring texture.

I do not eat much Thai food, so I love that this is something special. I love to experience different flavors, especially since I've had to cut out many past favorites. Now I need new favorites, and this is one of them.

Spinach Pancakes:
I assumed this would be my least favorite of the three products, since I am not usually a fan of spinach. I don't mind it in certain(very few) cases though, and this is one of them. I LOVE THESE! They ended up being my favorite product.

The reason must be the texture and the potato, onion and egg whites. They taste amazing. Also, they are filling and only 80 calories per(good sized) pancake. They are really good mixed into scrambled eggs. It makes a very filling and healthy meal too. I had this box gone so fast. I had to fight my daughter for them, because she loves them too.

I love that my daughter was so draw to something so healthy. I am always looking for healthier foods for my kiddos. Thankfully, Dr Praeger has that covered too. They have a whole line of Kids foods.
Not only are there some of kids' favorite characters on the box, but the foods are even character shaped, to make them super fun and appealing to kids. I even wanted them, that's how cute they are.

Broccoli Littles:
Are these not adorable? They taste amazing too. They smelled so good that I had to try them, and I love them even more than my grown-up varieties. I love broccoli and potato together. It tastes like a loaded potato. So good.

My daughter made quick work of these. She ate like 4-5 at a time and she's not even 2 yet.My son is autistic and afraid of new foods. He loved the shapes and the box, but was too stubborn to give them a chance. They were gone before he could even reconsider.

Dora Lightly Breaded Fishies:
Look how cute these little fishies are! I love it. My picky did give these a chance since he has eaten fish sticks before(he calls them fish fingers). He even asked for them saying, "Dora Fish Fingers". He loved them. He ate half the box for dinner one night.

He asked for them again the next day(that is really impressive for him, it means he like it extremely) And he finished the box. Even though he knows they are gone, he continues to ask for them, which means I have to buy more, which is awesome.

They are so much healthier than the other junk he usually eats, and even better for him than other fish stick type products. Not to mention they really do taste better(I taste a bite of one just to see). I normally hate fish sticks, but I would even eat these.

I am so glad that I found such delicious, nutritious and low fat options that my whole family loves. The are so convenient too, all of these products except the Fishies can be prepared in the microwave(or oven or on the stove top).

Even better, Dr. Praeger's products are all natural, non-GMO, low in sodium, trans fat free and contain no or low saturated fat. There are even may Gluten Free options and Vegan options, so there truly is something for everyone.

*Although I received these products at no cost to facilitate a review, all opinions are 100% my own*
