Toys 'R' Us Review

As many of you know, I have 2 wonderful children. I have a 17 month old girl and a 5 1/2 year old little boy.

God made my son a little extra special, as he is Autistic. That means he is very picky about about certain things.

Foods, sounds, routine, and toys are just some things that have to be just right for my son. He is very selective about what toys he not only likes, but will tolerate. The wrong thing can upset him.

He likes puzzles, drawing, computer games, and that is about it. A normal day for him consists of school, computer, homework, bath and bed(with meals worked in obviously). That is mostly it.

He loves the computer and playing his learning games. He also watches education shows and such. He can find anything o he is looking for on the computer with no help, and he really learns a lot from the games.

I still kinda felt bad about him being on it so much(only because I let all the comments(even online ones) from people bashing parents for "letting machines[like tv] babysit their kids". When in fact, it is quite the opposite, he actively engages with the games, clapping, jumping, calling out answers and such. And he even wants me to do the same(and of course I do)

He also will pause something and then go draw a picture of it, and hang it on the fridge. He sometimes does this 15 times a day. He is always so proud of himself, and all the praise gives him super self confidence.

Nevertheless, I wanted to find another activity for him, to keep  him off the computer, so I turned to the Children's toy superstore, Toys 'R' Us.

Toys 'R' Us has everything that any child could want and then some, so I knew I would find the perfect thing for him.

I found so many things that he would have loved, but I finally decided that a Leappad 2 would be perfect.

Leapfrog is such a wonderful brand, so educational, and it still offered him the learning games that he loves(and that I love him learning from).

The Leappad 2 is so cool, it has tons of games, stories and other apps. It has an art studio and a camera(still and video). It can be turned out or in for self portraits, and has a self timer.

You can have 3 different profiles(Complete with photo and personal background, as well as the abilty to save game points and such), and you can play as a guest.

Some of the games are interactive where you play by shaking the Leaappad 2 or blowing into the microphone. It is so neat. I actually wanted to play with it.

My son loves his Leappad 2, just as I knew he would.

As soon as he was it, he grabbed it and was so happy. Even the box made him happy. But he loved the toy. He played with it everywhere.

He played with it for over 2 hours straight, and was having a blast learning to play all the new games and see what he could do with it.

The timer for the camera counts down out loud(as well is animated on screen) and says, "Say Cheese" and he thought it was the greatest thing ever. He did not even care about taking pictures, but kept playing with it just to hear the countdown.

It made me feel so good to see him having so much fun. The only problem was that my daughter wanted to play with it too, and it was not about to share.

He still plays with it every day, and my daughter plays with it while he is in school. They both love it so much. I am going to get one for my little girl too.

Thank goodness that Toys 'R' Us also has a Pink and a Disney Princess Leappad 2.

I love Toys 'R' Us, and I am going to be doing all my toy shopping there. With Easter coming up, I love not having to compare stores or think about the best place to shop. I already knew where I will find everything I need at the best prices.

If you have kids(any kids to shop for), Toys 'R' Us is the only place you will ever need to shop for toys or games. Trust me.

*Although I received this item at no cost to facilitate a review, all opinions are 100% my own.*
