Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Ultimate Combo Review & GIVEAWAY!!!

Tick, tock, TICK, TOCK...Time is running out to get Dad the perfect Father's Day gift.If you already have, then good for you. If you have not, then you need to spring into action.

Dad's are so important. Weather it is your father(step father, etc), Father-in-law, grandfather, Son(who is a father), the father of your children, or someone else, there is bound to be at least one father who has made a positive impact on your life.

Father's Day is the one day set aside to show him(them) how much you appreciate everything he does to make your life more special. And although the day about so much more than gifts, it is still important(in my humble opinion) to get dad a token of your gratitude. Something special that makes him happy.

All dads are different, so it can often be hard to find the perfect gift. There are some things though that can be e great choice for almost any dad.

One thing that I think makes a great gift is tools. Some guys are obsessed with tools, so a new one is a rush every time. Other like tools but less passionately, and some guys really do not care too much for fixing things.

Either way, tools are still a great gift. I am sure you are asking yourself why tools would be good for the non handy man type, and it's simple. Just because it's not something they like to do for sun, there will still be a point when they need or want to do something and will need a tool or tools to do it.

As a matter of fact, my hubby is a take them or leave them kind of guy. He does occasionally like to work on projects, but never would consider himself a "tool guy", but when he needs to do something, a lack of tools makes him really frustrated.

My husband has only about 3-4 tools. A hammer, a Phillips Head and a Flat Head. He may still have some old beat-up pliers. Nothing is the same kind and none are name brands. It is very sad. Trying to fix anything is nearly impossible with only those items.

That is why I got him a tool set for Father's Day this year. I even ended up giving it to him early because low and behold, he needed them for something.

I wanted to get him a set. To start a collection, buying only one or 2 items seemed very pointless, and knowing my luck I would buy something and he would end up needing something different a few days later. I did not want just any set however, I wanted a grand set. Something that will consistently perform on an elite level, and that would truly be gift worthy.

I found that in Ryobi of course. The Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Ultimate Combo had everything I wanted and more.
This 6 piece power tool set has everything he could need.

Right out of the gate, there is one thing that really stands out to me about this kit. That it really is 6 pieces(tools). So many other kits would include carrying bags, batteries, etc as pieces, that is misleading. I love not only the honesty aspect of this, but also the value.

In addition to the tools this set also comes with an awesome Tool Bag.

I love that it has a place to keep everything. Since(as I mentioned) my hubby does not have tools, he does not have a toolbox nor anywhere else to store tools properly. This is like a life saver. Plus it just looks so awesome. I love that Ryobi Lime Green, it looks so clean with the black.

Not only is the amazing bag not counted as part of your 6 piece set, but this set also comes with a battery charger and not one but TWO 18-volt Lithium-Ion Batteries!! And they are not counted as your tools either.
I am so thrilled that this has 2 batteries. It is just good sense to have a backup in case a long job runs over the life of one battery, but even more than that, in case he forgets to charge them between uses.

I know my hubby very well, and I know that when he gets done using his tools, he would probably just put them away time after time, never worrying abut charging the battery. It would finally occur to him when he actually needs to use them fr something and the battery is dead.

With only one battery, he would then have to wait for hours for the battery to charge before he could go about his work. That would not only be frustrating for him, it would defeat the purpose of having tools for when you need them.

I am not just saying this is something my hubby or guys would do, because I am just as guilty. I only have one batter for my DSLR camera, and I wait until it dies completely while in use, then I even let it charge for a few minutes so it is good enough to take the photos I need, and I usually forget to even put it back.

Having 2 batteries is just such a wonderful and convenient idea. I am so glad that Ryobi can see that.

The other thing that I love about these batteries(and tools) is that all of the tools take the same battery, so it is mix and match without ever having to worry that one tool is not charged. Everything always works.

And as fantastic as the batteries and storage bag are, they are only there to support the tools, which are the real star of the show.

The Ultimate Combo includes:

Circular Saw:
I know Ryobi is awesome, but I was surprised that this performed as well as it did with only an 18-volt battery. Don't get me wrong, 18-volts is super powerful, but circular saws take a ton of power.

This saw rises to the challenge and makes it look easy.

Reciprocating Saw:
This little baby is powerful. It is lightweight for effortless control, but it can take on even tough cutting jobs.

Impact Driver:
Hubby might not know a lot about tools, but I know a bit, and this impact driver is right up there with some of the best ones on the market. It holds it's own and even takes on some of their slack.

Drill:
This baby is super powerful and yet is a good size. It is not too bulky or heavy like most of the drills my Father had.

Right Angle Drill:
Perfect for drilling in close quarters. Now, a small space cannot make drilling stressful or impossible. So handy.

Worklight:
Features a swivel Head to direct the light where it's needed. It can also sit flat(on the batter pack) stand on end, and hang to ensure that you can have this positioned exactly where and how you need it.

It is very bright(but not too bright), the light field is large and it can light the span of a whole street easily.

Of course, the most important factor when thinking of a Father's Day gift is that recipient will like it. That is not eve a question with this set. My husband LOVES it.

He is so excited to have his own tools, especially a real set of high quality power tools. He has been trying to use them n everything, Maybe Ryobi unleashed a dormant Mr. Fix It.

He could not be happier with the Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Ultimate Combo, and neither could I. This set is PERFECT!! This would be the dream gift for almost any father out there.

What is better than a powerful, sleek collection of items that can not only create things that are for fun, but also help to repair or maintain things you already have. They are fun and practical which is so rare.

I wish I could ensure that every dad got one of these amazing combos this Father's Day, but I can't.

Luckily though, I can give everyone their chance to win this set. One lucky will person will a Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Ultimate Combo(S299 Retail, a $469 value). Giveaway ends on Father's Day. Enter below. Good luck!

  3. Great review! One of the things I love about the set is how long the lithium ion batteries last - there's nothing that stinks more than quickly running out of battery power when you're in the middle of a project. I also like that this tool set has just about everything a DIY'er would need!

  19. you really have to share a lot of good information. Those products are important, you need a saw to be able to handle the cuts. I think to use many more products.

  27. Ryobi is such an underrated powertool brand. I love them for making this amazing hobby accessible due to their pricing.

  28. FYI, since your review shows up on the first page of a google search for the kit, the "right angle drill" is not actually a right angle drill. It is an oscillating multi tool. Ryobi does make a right angle drill, but the tool included in this kit is not one. Great review otherwise.

  29. I deleted my automobile decomp since they are debatable as you stated. Also be sure that you update your intake boot into the style with all the metal clamp. The plastic intake clamps are notorious for loosening and causing an air flow which will burn the Saw down. Last, there is an noodle upgrade kit for your carburetor if you have the Walbro. In case you've got the Zama carbohydrate I believe you are fine.
