Nutrisystem Week 20 Update

Hello everyone. It's Monday, you know what that means. It's time again for my weekly Nutrisystem update. After another fabulous week, I am happy to be sharing my progress with you again.

Every week I talk about the fact that the meals are delicious and that I get to eat a lot of food, and of course all that is wonderful, but there is more to this plan than that.

What I love the most about Nutrisystem is that it has helped me to change my entire approach to eating altogether. This is something that guides me daily, but I was especially reminded of it yesterday, since it was my birthday.

In the past if I actually was on a "diet"(which I never stuck to before), I would practically look for excuses to cheat, and I would ALWAYS seize a real opportunity like a special occasion, especially my birthday.

This year, it was much different. I would have normally declared an eat anything and everything I want in unlimited quantities day(wow, that is a mouth full). This year, I was very good(in my opinion).

For Breakfast I had my Nutrisystem Waffles(YUM, one of my absolute favorites) and my Refreshing Coffee Protein Shake.

I snacked on some Grapes. For lunch I had a Nutrisystem Steak and Cheese Melt, then snacked on a few pretzels.

For dinner, I had my Nutrisystem Salisbury Steak with Mac n Cheese. Hubby kept offering to take me to dinner, but I was able to resist, because I know that Nutrisystem meals still taste amazing, and there is no need to leave the house, sit in a crowded restaurant and pay a large bill just to get a good meal.

I did "cheat" a little for dessert and substituted my Nutrisystem dessert with a Protein Blondie. It was a little high in fat and calories, but probably better than cake, and it was a controlled portion and packed with protein and fiber and was wheat flour free.

I am still proud of myself from making the smarted choice for that specific occasion and also avoiding further temptation on subsequent days by not having leftover cake in the fridge.

Prior to starting Nutrisystem, by birthday consisted of copious amounts of every junk food available, fast food, restaurants and truckloads of cake for days. Not anymore. I learned to eat smart. Tasty foods in proper portions with a little indulgence every once in awhile.

The best part of the week? Getting my monthly shipment. The food is always exciting, and I love that.

As awesome as the food is, that was not the most exciting thing in the shipment. What I wanted most was that 40lb Nutribear to commemorate the fact that I have lost (over)40 pounds on Nutrisystem.
I am so proud of my weight loss and the bear is so adorable.

Of course the weight loss is the best part of any weight loss program, since that is the reason you do it. The results on the scale are wonderful(and I will share that in a moment), but the non scale victories are important too, like needing a belt on pants that you previously could not get over your thighs. That is a pretty clear sign that something is working.

When one of the things you most want for your birthday is a belt, that is pretty awesome. So hubby got me the most adorable belt that a few months ago I could have never fit into, and now I have plenty of room to spare.

This will be perfect to make my wardrobe last until I lose so much more that I need to go shopping for new everything(which is not far off).

This week a dropped another...

1.6 Pounds and 3/4 inch!

Even with my birthday treat. That brings my 20 week total to...

44.4 Pounds and 21 1/2 Inches!!

This is the best gift I could have ever given myself, and I am so glad I gave myself a chance to get the results I have always been wanting.
